106 - Adventuring

These were taken while clambering around in the rocks on Trigg beach searching for crabs and pretty seashells. I never seemed to outgrow some of the things that made me happy as a kid...

105 - Happy Days!

So today I went on a spontaneous 24km beach walk... My gym buddy and I were on our way to our usual Saturday morning pump class when we both just thought... nah. It was such a beautiful day and really, we need to take advantage of those now before winter hits for real. Being a spontaneous decision I was without my proper camera but it gave me a chance to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the camera in my phone. The massive sunburn I ended up was a less pleasant surprise...

104 - Bamboo

I think that the Perth City Link is going to be pretty awesome. But for the moment, while all of the construction is happening I think that this is the nicest looking part of that little area. Its actually part of the Perth City bus port, but as it's just across the road from the gates into Chinatown it got a little bit of a spruce-up a while back with some Asian artwork and bamboo. Can't wait to see how everything else shapes up!

103 - Back Alley Beauty

Its amazing what you can find down seemingly dingy back alleyways in Perth... from plants struggling to survive in cracks in the pavement to incredible works of art on the back of restaurants. This piece, which I have dubbed 'Battle Platypus' as I don't know its actual name (and that's what it looks like to me..) is by Mexican artist Curiot. While it MAY not actually be a Battle Platypus, I believe Curiot is big on mythical creatures - so I'm sure it's something equally as majestic.

102 - Progress in Shades of Purple

There's so much going on in Perth - anyone who follows Perth Daily Photo will know that my Mum is not keen on all of it (I really try to avoid mentioning Elizabeth Quay around her) but I think even she is ok with the development of the Perth City Link. For a very long time all the work around here has been around sinking train lines and leveling ground - it's exciting to see the buildings starting to go up!

101 - Sheryo and the Yok

Australian street artists Sheryo and Yok are well known worldwide for their larger than life characters... I have to admit - their style is not usually my favourite, But this piece that I stumbled upon today in Perth's China Town precinct is actually pretty darn cool. I like the kinda cheeky expression on the dragon's face. Certainly a nice bright and colourful end to a long day...

100 - Natures Jigsaw Puzzle

Considering that we should at least started on the road to winter, things in Perth are still pretty sunny! One of my favourite things about autumn is trees that have lost their leaves like this one, and this guy even gave me bonus pretty reflections and bark that looks like some kinda massive jigsaw puzzle. Excellent.

Ninety Nine - Fresh Air

Ahhhh fresh air. It's good for the body and the soul. This morning I went for a stroll around Lake Monger and found some lovely views of our pretty little city - oh how I love it!!

Ninety Eight - Planimals

I've spent a bit of time this week stuck in my house feeling sickly and mopey. Good thing I love my little house - its full of quirky things that make me smile. The latest acquisition of this type is my newest plant animal (planimal) Mr Owl here.
As I've mentioned before, I'm not the biggest green thumb around - but even I can keep a little succulent or cactus alive - and I'm just a sucker for a cute owl (I even wear Sir Hootington permanently on my leg!).

Ninety Seven - Textures

I know it looks like kinda...nothing, but I really enjoy the texture in the macro above. And I REALLY enjoy the full piece by Puerto Rican artist Alexis Dias. Such a lot of intricate detail - it really is quite incredible!

Ninety Six - Calm Blue Oceans

From where I'd rather be! I'm sorry I've been so absent lately! Late work nights and getting sick have combined to fight against my will to turn on a computer at home over the last few days - I will endeavor to do better! For now - here's some stock photos from a more calm summery time (although if I'm honest our days are still looking a bit like this at the moment...)

Ninety Five - Mrs. S

I don't know about the rest of you, but I believe that brunch is without a doubt the best meal of the day. Especially when enjoyed in a super cute quirky little restaurant with fabulous company! Today the ladies in the family went to Mrs. S in Maylands for a great morning of food and catch-ups. My chorizo, mushroom and bean hotpot with a perfectly poached egg was deeeeelicious.
And of course who doesn't like to have cake with their breakfast?

Ninety Four - Thank Goodness It's Friday!

I swear I didn't drink all of these today...
