A combination of migraines, a lack of sleep and 4 days over 40 degrees made last week... a little bit rough. Sorry for the absence. Here's some pretty sunsets to make up for it!!

13/2016 - Food Glorious Foooood
I am one of those embarrassing people who always takes photos of their food. And when one stretches their birthday celebrations out over a series of days, some delicious food of questionable nutritious value is bound to ensue.. From late night chocolate fondue with a good friend, to delicious brunch with my parents, to tasty cupcakes made with love by two adorable munchkins to just the most insane milkshake (complete with cronut and macaron) it's been a big week for my stomach. Or it's been a week to make my stomach big. Either way - it's salads and exercise for me from Monday onwards!
12/2016 - Fringey Festivities Part 2
Another day, another Spiegeltent... or two! My actual birthday on Thursday was a totally perfect day - started with a stunning early morning beach walk followed by scrumptious brunch with Mum and Dad, naps in the afternoon and not one but two fringe shows in the evening. First up was LIMBO - another circus/cabaret/acrobatic type show, but so different to La Soiree! Both were amazing, but with music specially composed for the show and performed on stage, this felt much more choreographed (which was all really cool). I was also impressed with the versatility of the performers - from playing instruments/singing to acrobatics to dancing and sword/fire swallowing, the same 6 performers did almost everything. Oh to be so multi talented! (and again the boys weren't rough on the eyes...)
The second show of the night was Frisky and Mannish, a British comedy musical cabaret act. I saw these guys a few years back and really enjoyed the way they dissect and play around with pop songs to turn them into something different. A super fun way to end off the day!

11/2016 - Fringey Festivities
I always seem to manage to make my birthday last for at least a few days and this year is no different. This year's festival of Aimee began the day before my birthday (on Wednesday) with tickets to see the very fabulous La Soiree. How fortunate I am to have my birthday fall right in the middle of Perth Fringe Festival! This is my second time seeing La Soiree (I went last year) and it was just as great as I remembered it. A mix of saucy cabaret, burlesque and circus sideshow there's something for everyone (well, everyone over the age of 18 anyway!). I've gotta say my favourite act is probably the English Gents... for their awesome feats of strength, its totally not because they are super hot....

10-2016 - Little Glimpses
If you follow my Mum over at Perth Daily Photo you've no doubt seen a rant or two (or three or four!!) about the development going on at Elizabeth Quay. Well, I hate to disagree buuuuuut, from first impressions I kinda love it. I missed the opening on Friday night due to hot weather and general laziness, but we went for a wander today after work and I really enjoyed what I saw. Some wider shots will be forthcoming in the next couple of days, but I thought I'd begin with a bit of a teaser shot. Happy Monday!
