Forty Eight - Urban Orchard Fun

Before our show last night we went and had a drink in the Urban Orchard (had to go to all of the cute Fringey spots before they were gone!). It's a pretty cool spot year round, outside of the Fringe festival its a community garden where you can find fruit, vegetables, herbs and companion plants. The planter boxes are made from recycled waste from other parts of the building works, the plants are managed organically and are harvested and planted seasonally. Its cool to have something like this right in the middle of the city. During Fringe it gets made up with bars, food and a silent disco and is a great place to hang out.

  1. Urban greenery is such a great idea, keeping city people in touch with nature. Love the closeup of the blossom!

  2. Last year, Phoenix started an urban garden area right in the middle of the city. Maybe one day they will do something fun like this there.

  7. What a grand idea to include the urban orchard as a relaxation area in the fringe festival. Now that's being creative and keeping people aware that we need Mother Nature around.
