Forty Six - Happy Chinese New Year!

As I was walking through the city today on my lunch break I was lucky enough to stumble across a Chinese Lion Dance in full swing. I do love watching these - they remind me of playful puppies and the dancers are very talented, these guys were leaping up to full height (so one guy on top of the other under there!) all over the place. Perth's full on Chinese New Year celebrations will take place in Northbridge this Sunday, but as I'm not 100% sure I'll make it there this year I was pretty pleased to catch this dance!

  1. The Chinese people are not enough in my town to have such a celebration . I'd like to see that once in my life , it seems joyful and colorful .

  2. Very colourful indeed!

I don't live close enough to our Chinatown to have really noticed if anything was going on, but I'm sure celebrations are being held.

  4. Great shots of this event. I do love seeing them too and you just reminded me of somewhere I should have been yesterday. I bet I missed the big new year parade.
