108 - Gumnuts and Waugals

Thanks for all the nice comments on my last post - while it was really upsetting to lose so much stuff, I'm very thankful that I haven't lost absolutely everything - I've at least managed to hold on to all my very important family photos... I'm afraid we'll be having hiking shots for a few days - there were lots of interesting things to be seen yesterday! And for those who were maybe a little concerned about the snake (or Waugal) on the sign in my photo yesterday worry not -  it was not there to warn walkers about snakes (although they are around)! The Waugal is, according to Noongar culture, a snakelike dreamtime creature responsible for the creation of the Swan and Canning Rivers. The yellow arrows with the Waugal on them are used as markers to show you your way along the Bibbulmun track.

  2. I just saw your post from yesterday and it sent a shiver down my spine. I really do need to invest some time (and possibly money) in a back up system. I'd be devastated if I lost my photos. I'm so sorry for the loss. A little chocolate can sooth the pain.
