No... Not THOSE words (although a good I Love You is also awesome). We're all so busy nowadays, it's too easy to miss it when the people we love are struggling. I'm surrounded by the best family and friends around, so I'm never short of people to talk to when something is getting me down (hell Mamma sometimes notices that something's up before I even realise it myself!). Not everyone is so lucky. On my lunch break today I stumbled across a little event for 'R U OK?' . Despite taking issue with the grammar usage in that name, I think anything that encourages people to take the time out to have meaningful conversations and stay connected is good. And asking “are you ok?” is a great
place to start!
I agree that staying connected is especially meaningful when people care enough about each other to find out if they are okay. You are very lucky to have such a caring mom!
ReplyDeleteYes... you are lucky. Even though I don't always leave a comment I do enjoy photos
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Anything that connects and brings us closer to each other is certainly good :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Psychic mum :) The light in these shots is fab Aimee, would have liked to see this event.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm ok. You?
ReplyDeleteA great and meaningful event. Actually this year we didn't get the brochures at the clinic for RUOK day, totally missed it!
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a pretty good idea to me. As you say, the grammar is a little short, but given that many kids these days converse in text speak, perhaps it's appropriate to reach an intended audience.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes!! I do agree with you and EG! Staying connected is so important for all of us and you do indeed have a caring Mom!! I always enjoy your blog, Aimee!! Hope your week is going well!!
ReplyDeleteIn this case, it works!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I love this, it's so important to check in with people and make sure they're feeling OK, even if it's to let me vent to you or give them a chance to offload. I love it when a friend just pops in and see's how it's going, and I hope you're doing OK too Aimee! I love that first shot, the colours contrast nicely! - Tasha
ReplyDeleteThat is a fine idea, just open up and ask! Mommy's have special radar to detect these things
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great organization.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to slow down a bit and check on each other!
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all surprised when you tell us what a great Mum you have, Aimee!
ReplyDeleteHello Aimee, I like your site, I found you via Grace at Perth Daily Photo. This is such a good idea. Quite often we carry stuff around with us and it's not until someone says those 3 little words that it all comes tumbling out, so it's good to have someone to talk to.
ReplyDeleteYep, no matter which way you ask it, "Are you okay" are three wonderful words to hear and say! Great shots too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event!
ReplyDeleteThese are 3 wonderful words. They say so much and offer an opportunity to connect the good and the bad stuff with someone. Sharing is caring.
