146 - Lost and Found

I'm sorry I've been missing in action for a while... I had a little period there where I just completely lost my inspiration photography-wise. Not sure why... does that ever happen to any of you guys? And just abruptly as it disappeared, I found my desire to pick up my camera today. I think it might have had something to do with the stunning Spring day. I'm definitely one of those people whose mood is heavily affected by the weather - days like this just make me happy. This lovely bed of everlastings was found while meandering past the WA Museum on my lunchbreak (I still need to go have a wander around in there - Mum's recent visit made me jealous...) and I couldn't resist them!

  1. The loss of inspiration happens more often than we'd like, Aimee. You're as normal as a creative soul is capable of being!

  4. An artist told me once 'dry periods' are fine for the photographer, as long as you still SEE pictures to take. Welcome back.

  6. Wonderful captures for the day, Aimee!! I, too, hit those "dry spots" when I just can't seem to find anything that I want to photograph!! Thankfully, they don't last for very long and it's always fun to start taking pics again!! Good to see you are back and these are terrific!! Hope you have a great week!!

  9. Wonderful shots here. I especially like the little green bug on the bud. Sometimes I think when I photograph an insect that the little creature has such a short life and it has no idea I've just immortalized it on the internet. That little green bug will be sitting on that bud from now on as long as it's available for viewing on the internet. I know, I know, silly thoughts.

  11. Yes, sometimes it does happen to me, especially when life dishes out a lot of stuff and then when the family and friends get-together and time just flies on by. It's not always just the photo taking, but the putting words to the post too! Excellent come back photos you shared here too.

  12. Aimee, your photos are beautiful, and yes, I think that a daily dose of posting can often be a burden. Enjoy life and take more lovely photos like these.

  13. Beautiful photos, the first two are stunning. My moods are also affected by the weather which at the moment is rain, rain and more rain here in the UK.

  14. Lovely to see the museum in the background there Aimee. The bokeh in the first three shots couldn't be more perfect.

  16. Five excellent images, Aimee. I like the variety. You first shot, with the insect on the bud, is a winner, and the two final images of buildings peeking out from behind the field of flowers are also really good.

I completely understand the loss of interest. My daughter began a daily photo blog several years ago but the grind of finding something interesting every day got to her and she stopped. I cope with the mental ups and downs by taking lots of photos on days when I feel like it and then taking several days off while I show images from my "good" days.
