In all the years we've been going over to Sydney, and all the times we've walked around Circular Quay, would you believe I've never actually set foot on the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Seems crazy right? This trip we decided to take a meander across the bridge and get a new perspective on both the bridge and the quay. I'm not always a big fan of the whole 'love locks' thing, and there are very few on the fences along the bridge (I suspect the guards posted at intervals along the walking path are off-putting to most people), but I did think that this one for someone's Mother was quite touching...
That at least is a better sentiment for a lock on these bridges than the usual.
ReplyDeleteI like that capture of the lock first, and second wow, what a great place to finally experience! I especially like your last shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the love lock trend either. It's just another form of graffiti. There is another job I'm glad I never had, bridge guard. Must be crushingly boring to stand around keeping people from attaching locks to the cyclone fencing.
ReplyDeleteI've never crossed the bridge either, maybe on a future trip to Sydney...
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific, awesome bridge! I'd love to walk there, but your photos are the next best thing, Aimee!! Thanks for sharing! Hope you are ready for a great weekend -- camera in hand, of course!!
ReplyDeleteGreat composition in that last photo.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the lock....
ReplyDeleteA guard on the bridge is not something I saw when I lived in Sydney. Interesting perspectives of the boundaries.
ReplyDeleteHave never been there, now I know how it looks like. Thanks for your photos.
ReplyDeleteI love the bridge shots and like you, I don't care for the love locks thing either but, I've never seen one dedicated to one's mother. Very touching!
