168 - Agapanthus and Arachnids

Funny that we went to the Jacaranda festival and I end up with my camera pointed down the petals of an agapanthus. But apparently I just can't resist a photo of a spider. Even when editing them gives me the full on creeps.
Speaking of spiders and things that will haunt my nightmares...
Sorry for the low quality shot - this giant hornet from hell was dragging the poor (and also quite large) spider by the face so fast that I didn't have time to get the right lens going. Why do I feel the need to photograph these things?!

  2. I agree with Andy, embiggen the image to get a full view of the horror that is in the second shot :) Nice work Aimee, it was moving away with its captured prey very speedily :)

  4. Despite the dreaded spider within, these are amazingly beautiful photos -- especially #1.

  6. Those first to shots have some beauty to them in spite of the scary spider. The last shot is just scary all around. I do hate spiders and I think I hate hornets just as much. Don't feel bad, I took a photo of a spider crawling on a bench I was sitting on just the other day. I thought the same thing, why did I take a picture of that thing.

  9. I've heard about those hornets. Great to see one in action just so I'm not a spider. Your lens seems pointed at so many interesting sights.
