I don't like leaving the office in the dark. I much prefer the 'get in early, leave while there's still some day left' approach. Even if that slice of daylight gets shorter as winter draws closer... But at least today as I wandered back to my car I stumbled upon this pretty sight. I've spotted this fabulous piece by Amok Island before and it does look great in the daylight, but its amazing the magic a few fairy lights can add to a scene! Only 1 more day to the weekend...

Ninety Two - Searching for Serenity
Can I just say, budget estimate time sucks. I'm trying to regain some of my weekend serenity by looking at photos from our hike rather than focusing on the horribly busy, cross-eye inducingly spreadsheety time I'm having at work. I'm having moderate success. I think falling asleep on the couch watching The Flash will work better though...I hope you're all having a great week!

Ninety One - Different Angles
Another beautiful day, another beautiful hike. Here in WA we are lucky enough to be the only state that have a public holiday for ANZAC Day this year and I made very good use of it going for a hike in the Hills. These shots were actually taken from underneath a lookout point - I would have never thought to go down there if Dad hadn't suggested it - he's definitely good at finding new and interesting things to take photos of!

Ninety - Lest We Forget
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We shall remember them.

Eighty Nine - Unexpected Artwork
Even when I'm not looking for them I stumble across awesome pieces of artwork nowadays! Today I ventured slightly further afield than usual on my lunch break and walked over to East Perth to meet some friends. As I hurried my way back to the office after what may have been slightly too long away from the desk I came across this piece by Indonesian artist Eko Nugroho. I feel like this view is not our little city's best side, but I enjoyed this splash of colour against an otherwise pretty dull skyline.

Eighty Eight - Anyone Lose a Wicked Witch?
When wandering through Forrest Chase in the city at the moment you will come across something a little unusual... Wicked is finally coming to town here in Perth (I saw the show a few years back in Sydney and I loved it) and as a promo these witchy feet have appeared - no sign of Dorothy though. Funnily enough I used to wear a stocking/shoe combo very like this... I'll count myself lucky that I was never hit by any flying houses!! I hope you're all having a good week!

Eighty Seven - Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
Over the weekend we popped into the art gallery at the Central Tafe to check out the 'Revealed' exhibition (see Mum's post here). The exhibition featured some amazing works of art, but I left the taking of photos inside up to Mum - I always feel a little bit awkward taking photos inside a gallery, as if I might be doing something wrong... But just outside the official exhibition I happened upon this piece constructed out of strips of cardboard. The eyes freak me out a tad but it is quite clever!

Eighty Six - Here We Go Again!
Aaaaaand we're back in Perth! I may have been in Sydney while the majority of the PUBLIC2015 artworks were being painted but Mum and I did manage to catch a couple still going up on the Tafe in Northbridge. This very cool piece is by Ukrainian artists Waone and AEC (Interesni Kazki). I enjoyed that the artist was being sun safe with his umbrella :). I hope you've all had a fabulous weekend!

Eighty Five - Breakfast and Cuteness
One of the things I looove to do in Sydney is eat. Well. I love that everywhere I spose. These shots were taken at Jed's Food Store in North Bondi - a very very tasty place for breakfast!
My beautiful niece certainly seemed to agree! Oh how I miss that gorgeous child already...

Eighty Four - New Perspectives
In all the years we've been going over to Sydney, and all the times we've walked around Circular Quay, would you believe I've never actually set foot on the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Seems crazy right? This trip we decided to take a meander across the bridge and get a new perspective on both the bridge and the quay. I'm not always a big fan of the whole 'love locks' thing, and there are very few on the fences along the bridge (I suspect the guards posted at intervals along the walking path are off-putting to most people), but I did think that this one for someone's Mother was quite touching...

Eighty Three - Hello Old Friend
I'm back! Hi Guys - I'm sorry I've been MIA for a little while, I've been off to Sydney to visit my brother and his family and celebrate my ridiculously cute little niece's 1st birthday. Seriously. She's the most gorgeous little thing ever. So for a couple of days my photos will have an Eastern States flair while I go through some of my holiday snaps! With my brother living over there we've been to Sydney quite a lot, and we definitely have our favourite places to visit. And of course you can't go past Circular quay and the Sydney Harbour Bridge... I hope you've all been going well!

Eighty Two - Blue
My Mum definitely has a green thumb, her garden is always beautiful. Sadly I don't think that she passed that trait on to me... This hedge in her backyard has exploded in glorious (albeit sticky) flowers and I just couldn't resist snapping a few photos. It was just too pretty.

Eighty One - Lacey Eyes
I bought these lacey contacts for.... something... some kinda dress up party no doubt a few years back. I recently rediscovered them hiding in a cupboard at Mum and Dads house and ever since have been meaning to take a cool macro with them in. This is a kinda different post as I didn't actually take either of these pictures - Mum did. I tried to take macros of my own eyes and was just not having any luck so I went over with the strange request of 'can you please take a really close photo of my eyeball?' Mum also has much prettier places for photos in her backyard... I hope you've all had a lovely Easter with lots of chocolate and time spent with loved ones!

Eighty - Feelin' hot hot hot
A while back some friends gave me a little chilli plant. Now somehow, despite my haphazard approach to gardening the plant is coming along quite well and I've got my first batch of chilli's almost ready to be cooked into something tasty! it's exciting! Makes me want to start planting some other vege's...

Seventy Nine - Hey Doofus!
Having a stroll around near the Tafe in Northbridge on my lunch break I came across this lane way with its assorted colourful paintings. While I appreciate the artwork of the piece at the back there by Argentinian artist Ever the most, the big DOOFUS did make me smile.
