Its amazing what you can find in some scrub in the middle of a roundabout... This beautiful flower caught my eye on the way out of Kings Park on Wednesday and with that colour and that texture, I couldn't help but crouch on the road to take a photo. Not something I'd recommend on a busy road but I figure in this spot cars go slow and its not like they would be able to say they didn't see me if they hit me, my hair kind of makes me like a human red light... If you'd like a different view of the beautiful Boab tree in the background of my wide shot, check out my Mum's post here.

Thirty Four - Parasols in the Park
I have a very good friend who refuses to walk anywhere in the hot summer sun without her parasol. It might seem a bit much but her skin is incredibly soft so apparently its worth it. The lady in the photo below going for a stroll in Kings Park seems to have the same idea. And considering how hot it was, it certainly seems smart!

Thirty Two - Fringe
This early morning shot is about as quiet as you'll catch the Urban Orchard during the Fringe Festival. Even in the early hours a couple of photographers and other folk were trickling in to partake in a creative workshop... always things happening! Sorry for the lack of comments over the last couple of days - busy days and crazy electrical storms at night have been keeping me away from the computer a bit!!

Thirty One - Saunders Trouser Carnival
Now I know this is a weird title. But if you look closely the sign in this newly opened walkway that's what it says. Saunders Trouser Carnival. What that means... I'm not sure but it made me chuckle! I was really drawn towards the mixture of metal and plant in the fence along the wall - I think the intertwining textures worked out quite nice in macro... This incredible artwork was a collaboration between Australian artists Vans the Omega and Beastman and adds to the ever growing collection of artworks on the walls of 140 William Street where I am lucky enough to work. The styles of these two artists really complement each other and add up to a wonderful piece of art.

Thirty - Collecting Shells
Early yesterday morning I went for a delightful stroll down but Burns Beach with some friends before the day had a chance to become horribly hot and humid. It really is a great way to start the day, there's something about that fresh coastal air that just makes me happy. While most of the walk was on pathways, we did venture down to the sand for a bit of shell collecting - there seem to be more variety (and lots of crab holes!) down on the beach here than there is on my usual at Mullalloo... Funny to think how lovely and sunny it was just yesterday while as I type I'm sitting listening to rain on my roof and massive thunder in the sky (is it weird that the thunder gave an urge to watch one of the Thor movies?)!
Twenty Nine - ALLONS-Y!
So spoiler alert, just in case anyone didn't know, I'm a massive geek. And in light of that, today was a very very good day. The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular hit Perth for the first time today and you know I was all over that! Hosted by the charming fifth Doctor Peter Davison and featuring the WA Symphony Orchestra, conductor Ben Foster and soprano Antoinette Halloran it certainly was an excellent show. I feel a Doctor Who marathon may be in my near future....
