Before our show last night we went and had a drink in the Urban Orchard (had to go to all of the cute Fringey spots before they were gone!). It's a pretty cool spot year round, outside of the Fringe festival its a community garden where you can find fruit, vegetables, herbs and companion
plants. The planter boxes are made from recycled waste from other parts
of the building works, the plants are managed organically and are
harvested and planted seasonally. Its cool to have something like this right in the middle of the city. During Fringe it gets made up with bars, food and a silent disco and is a great place to hang out.
Urban greenery is such a great idea, keeping city people in touch with nature. Love the closeup of the blossom!
ReplyDeleteLast year, Phoenix started an urban garden area right in the middle of the city. Maybe one day they will do something fun like this there.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do agree with EG!! A great idea indeed and it does help keep city people in touch with nature and we all need that -- particularly these days! Wonderful captures, Aimee!! Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a fun new week!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe Fringe is over Aimee, seemed to zoom past. super macro and shot of the urban garden.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with EG. Such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteSuch summery shots, Aimee!
ReplyDeleteTerrific macro, Aimee!
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' the flower, a nice change from our never-ending monochromatic Winter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand idea to include the urban orchard as a relaxation area in the fringe festival. Now that's being creative and keeping people aware that we need Mother Nature around.
